This was a fun session recorded over 2 days at Sear Sound in NYC and my first recording session in New York City after moving there from New Orleans. It was very cool to get to hang with the legendary engineer Walter Sear and watch him work. This record features Max's melodic compositions for his quintet. A native of Zimbabwe, Max beautifully combines African and Jazz music and the result is a truly unique sound. The band, which featured Obed Calvaire, Fraser Hollins, and Soren Moller, toured extensively together and had many great times!
