DUCHESS is a super swinging and really fun vocal jazz trio comprised of Amy Cervini, Hilary Gardner, and Melissa Stylianou. Their tight vocal harmonies are in the tradition of vocal groups like the Boswell Sisters, but Duchess has created a sound all of their own. Producer Oded Lev-Ari put together a wonderful group for this session at Sear Sound. The core rhythm section of pianist Michael Cabe, bassist Paul Sikivie, and drummer Matt Wilson swing like crazy; and saxophonist Jeff Lederer’s soulful and energetic playing takes the album to the next level.
