Robert Sabin is one of my favorite musicians to work with. He is a supremely talented bassist and composer with a knack for creating moody compositions and orchestrations. Bob put together a first class nonet for this recording session in Brooklyn. The album features some amazing solos from Jason Rigby, Aaron Irwin, Jon Yao, and Matt Holman. My favorite moment of the recording session occured when the band seemed tired and needed some inspiration. Bob (in classic fashion) pulled out some sort of animal?!? skeleton from his backpack to inspire us. I tried not to look to closely at it! The band had a great laugh and instantly sounded much better.
